How to Report a Flood

Make sure you and your family are safe before reporting a flood. It an emergency call 999.

Why should you report a flood?

One of the main reasons you should report a flood is so that the risk management authority can be made aware of where there are flooding issues. If they don’t know then they are unlikely to be able to help.

Who to contact?

Flooding can occur for a number of reasons and different organisations are responsible for flooding in different situations. To learn more about which organisation is responsible for different types of flooding, visit our Types of Flooding webpage.

If you can establish the source of flooding, then you can report it directly to the relevant organisation. If you’re unsure of where the water is coming from then report it to us using the Council’s Customer Contact Centre details below.
