Ferndale Community School

The school benefitted from two new ICT suites designed to 21st Century Schools standards, while a new Design and Technology Room was provided. An existing Science laboratory was refurbished, while an additional classroom was created utilising existing space within the school.

Classrooms within the main building were converted to Additional Learning Needs (ALN) rooms in order to accommodate pupils with ALN, while the school’s toilet areas were improved and remodelled, together with a new roof to the school’s kitchen.

The school is also benefitting from a new ‘all-weather’ 3G sports pitch, which is also available for members of the community.

The main scheme was completed in 2018/19, but further works including swimming pool refurbishments were completed during 2020.
