The Education Team at Dare Valley Country Park in Aberdare offer a range of educational services to Schools and Community Groups.
A day tuition programme, suitable for both primary and secondary school pupils is available by downloading the documents, please see link attached.
In addition, there is a programme of activities called ‘Inspired for Life.’ This is a residential package that has been specifically designed for Rhondda Cynon Taf primary schools and aimed at Key Stage 2 pupils (aged between 5 and 6). This package is an ideal opportunity to give children their first exciting residential experience, without the necessity of having to travel too far from home.
As well as ‘Inspired for life’, residential facilities are available at Dare Valley Country Park and accommodation can be adapted to suit the needs of schools. Optional tuition can be provided for a variety of subjects, details of which are available on request.
Local schools are familiar with the excellent tuition provided. Just one example of the popular study days on offer is to ‘follow the course of the river.’ For primary schools, this involves children looking at the way the river changes from source to mouth with measurements being taken of width, velocity, depth and temperature. River studies are also offered for secondary schools and, in these cases, tuition is tailored to the specific aims of the group.
