Multiply is a new programme aimed at helping adults aged 19+ improve their confidence with numbers in everyday life. It offers easy access to a wide range of FREE courses designed to improve your confidence with numbers.

Whether you would like help managing your money, supporting your children with their homework or you want to progress at work, we can help.

Would you like to attend one-to-one sessions, or small friendly group sessions to help gain confidence and improve your skills? The project can help you do this and allow you to learn at a pace that suits you.

Courses

Slow cooker taster

How to make delicious, nutritious, low maintenance meals on a budget in a friendly atmosphere. Ingredients and equipment provided.

2 hours / 4 weeks - Classroom Based.

Introduction to supporting a child with additional learning needs (ALN)

Open to everyone. Learn strategies to help with behavioural needs and how to implement and deliver behavioural interventions and de-escalation techniques. Covers the 2021 ALN Act and the resulting changes to educational terms.

2 hours / 4 weeks - Classroom Based.

Introduction to Stress Management

An explanation of why we experience stress, and ways to ease negative thoughts and feelings. Also incorporating how a healthy diet, exercise, breathing techniques and mindfulness can help reduce stress.

2 hours / 4 weeks - Classroom Based.

Lego Therapy

Learn the skills needed to help children work together and solve challenges. In an engaging and fun environment, learn how to support children to develop communication, social interaction, turn-taking, and problem-solving skills. Adult only sessions.

2 hours / 4 weeks - Classroom Based.

Children’s learning through play / games

Help to support children’s learning through play and games, Preparing young children for school, encourages imagination and supports literacy and numeracy skills. Resources available.

2 hours / 4 weeks - Classroom Based.

Everyday Finances

Identifying sources of income, features of savings accounts, different types of spending, borrowing choices, income tax. Understanding differences in accounts, bank statements, financial terms and pay slips.

2 hours / 4 weeks - Classroom Based.

Understanding Self-Employment

Identifying the difference and knowing where to start. Raising awareness of the tax elements and learning how to market your company.

2 hours / 4 weeks - Classroom Based.

Functional Maths Skills

The course covers the essential topics of maths, such as numbers, fractions, decimals, percentages, and ratios. You will learn how to apply these skills to real-life situations, such as budgeting, measuring, planning, and problem-solving.

2 hours / 13 weeks - Virtual OR Classroom Based.

Microsoft Excel

Become confident in Excel functions and formulas.

Beginner / Intermediate: 1 hour per week 4 weeks.

Advanced: 1 hour per week 8 weeks (Option available: 2hrs per week for 4 weeks).

Virtual OR Classroom Based.

Pre GCSE-Maths

GCSE maths preparation course. The course will focus on developing the arithmetic and algebra skills required to gain a place on a GCSE maths course.

2 hours / 30 weeks - Virtual or Classroom Based.

Understanding Trauma

Understanding what trauma is and its affect a person. How trauma can affect behaviour and learn new strategies to deal with its effects.

2 hours / 4 weeks - Virtual or Classroom Based

Money Management

Improving your household budgeting skills, understanding and challenging bills, comparing the price of food and other household goods, and searching for the best energy suppliers, making savings. Enabling you to make better financial decisions.
