Children's library

Every Library has a children's and teenage section which aims to support children and young people through every aspect of their learning.

In order to use you local library you will need to become a member. Join your library online.

Children of any age are welcome to join the library and borrow books and story-tapes free of charge.

Stories range from board books for the very young to teenage novels. We also have a special Quick Reads section for children who are just beginning to read alone.

If you need help with your homework or school project each library has a wide range of information books.

Welsh language collections are stocked at each library. Picture books in a selection of languages from Arabic to Urdu are housed at Reserve Stock & available on request from any library.

Wordwise Collection

A selection of books for children who find reading difficult are available at Aberdare LibraryPontypridd Library and Trerochy Library. This collection also includes information for parents on dyslexia & other learning difficulties.

Parent Collection

A selection of books covering all aspects of child development, including stories and information books dealing with problems your child may encounter are available at Aberdare LibraryPontypridd Library and Trerochy Library.


As well as computers with free access to the internet all Rhondda Cynon Taf Libraries have collections of information books suitable for homework projects. Library staff can help to get children started.
