Dear colleague,
Following the recent communication on Covid 19 – Compulsory Testing, the Council and trade unions have had some calls to clarify matters around the testing. Based on those clarification discussions and to ensure that all employees understand the testing protocol, we would wish to provide some additional advice as follows:
- If you are the first person (case) to display symptoms and take a test, you may return to work upon either receiving your negative test result or 7 days after developing symptoms, whichever comes first. You must be free of a high temperature for at least 48 hours before ending isolation;
- If you have been identified as a Contact of confirmed (positive test) case you will be required to self isolate for 14 days. If you develop symptoms during this time, you must urgently undertake a test. If that test result is negative, you must still continue to self-isolate for 14 days and not return to work until your isolation period has been ended.”
Kind regards
Senior Leadership Team
