What are Children's Services Safeguarding responsibilities?

Keeping children safe is everybody’s responsibility (Wales Safeguarding Procedures). In Children’s Services, we have a specific role. We must respond when we are worried a child may have suffered or is likely to suffer harm. This is outlined in law (Social Services and Wellbeing (Wales) Act 2014).

What does harm mean?

Harm can be physical, emotional, sexual or neglect. It can be intentional or unintentional and it can be harm in the family or from people outside the family.
