We have updated our ‘Risk Assessment’ for ceremonies in the Municipal Buildings. The changes below will become effective from Saturday 4th September 2021.

The new assessment concludes that, from the 4th September 2021, the maximum number of guests including photographer/ videographer and children allowed to attend ceremonies in the Register Office (small room), will increase to 10, the Evan James Suite to 28 and the Civic Chamber to 33. The Bride and Groom are not included in the maximum guest number allowed for either room.

All guests, not including children under the age of 11 years or those who are medically exempt, will have to continue to wear a mask /face covering whilst entering the building and these must continue to be worn until the Registrar advises all guests they may be remove their face coverings when the ceremony begins. The Registrar will then ask all guests to replace their face coverings once the legal ceremony ends.
