Whether it’s living with a disability or simply getting older, our residents tell us they want to remain independent and Vision Mobility are on hand to provide the equipment people need! Forget navigating referrals, lengthy applications, and waiting lists, you can access the equipment you need when you need it.

How Does it Work?

  1. Read our factsheet which contains all the information you need to make an informed decision about what equipment is right for you.
  2. Explore your options! Contact different equipment providers and research different types of equipment.
  3. Make an informed decision based on the available information.
  4. Purchase directly – no need to go through the Council or request a referral, you can simply purchase the equipment you need based on a range of suppliers.

What Can You Access?

Whether it’s mobility aids, assistive devices, or other essentials, our factsheet covers a wide range of affordable options, with most being priced under £40. These include:

Mobility and Home Comfort

  • Bed levers and furniture raisers which can assist people with getting out of bed and up from furniture.
  • Household trolleys designed to assist with moving items around the house.
  • Perching stools can support people who struggle with standing for long periods of time.

Support with Using the Bathroom

  • Bath boards, shower stools and bath steps are aids that can enhance bathing safely and comfortably and can be adjusted.
  • Toilet seats and frames make it easier to use the toilet and some can be adjusted.
  • Commodes are useful for those who may find it difficult to get to the toilet in time.

Easier Communication

  • Accessible telephones and mobile phones can help individuals stay in contact with loved ones without barriers. They come equipped with a range of customisable options such as large buttons, assistance and fall buttons, adjustable volume, and much more.

Where Can You Purchase Equipment?

Vision Mobility is a Council supported business that seeks to provide people with access to low-cost equipment. They offer a diverse range of products and services to the public and private sector, and they support disabled individuals both in the community and within their workforce.

Their products range from mobility scooters, riser recliner chairs and profiling beds to simple aids to help people around the home. In store, they have trained staff are on hand to offer advice and information on the products available to help with day to day living.

Opening hours are Monday to Thursday, 10am–4pm, Friday 10am‒12.30pm.
