Supporting National Blood Donor Week

National Blood Donor Week

Rhondda Cynon Taf Council is supporting Welsh Blood and the National Blood Donor Week campaign (June 13-19) in a bid to encourage more blood donations and new donors across the County Borough.

Hospitals in Wales require 350 donations each day to support patients in need, which is why every donation counts and could potentially help save many lives.

Making a blood donation is simple to do. Your journey begins by booking an appointment online at one of the many sessions held each month throughout Rhondda Cynon Taf

Give Blood: Book you donation appointment now

Councillor Maureen Webber, Rhondda Cynon Taf Council Deputy Leader, said: “Blood donors are needed daily to maintain stock levels at our hospitals and to meet demand, which is why Rhondda Cynon Taf Council continues to support Welsh Blood.

“Just one single blood donation can help up to three patients as it can be split into its different components and used in various ways to help patients recover.

“If you can donate blood, book your next donor appointment now. Giving blood is one of the most selfless gifts you can give to another person. By donating you are helping save lives.”
