Rhondda Cynon Taf Council is taking its ‘Let’s Talk Climate Change RCT’ conversation on the road, visiting communities across the County Borough in the coming weeks, discussing issues that matter the most to them.

From wildflowers to electric vehicles, using less water and electricity, to recycling and reusing – we all have a part to play, no matter how big or small, in helping Rhondda Cynon Taf Council become a Carbon Neutral Council by 2030. It is also our aim to ensure the County Borough is as near as possible to Carbon Neutral by 2030.

Council staff will be out in our communities this summer encouraging everyone to ‘Let’s Talk Climate Change RCT,’ with details of events posted on our social accounts leading up to the events.

Councillor Rhys Lewis, Cabinet Member for Stronger Communities, Well-being and Cultural Services, and the Council’s Climate Change Champion, said: “We recognise, that as Council we need to lead the way and support our residents, businesses and visitors in tackling climate change – and such changes need begin locally.

“The small steps we make here in Rhondda Cynon Taf, along with all other local authorities in Wales, will have a huge impact if we all pull together.

“Our Climate Change Conversation Let’s Talk RCT has already got people taking – about everything from caring for our wildflowers to charging points for electric vehicles.

“But we all need to do more, which is why we are now going into our communities and talking to the residents and businesses that can help us make a difference.

“Public engagement is the key to our success with this. Your views matter to us, so I urge everyone to come and talk to us.”
