Description

The Council is supporting the Know Your Numbers! campaign this month held by Blood Pressure UK.

The theme for this year is ‘you have the power’- encouraging us all to monitor our blood pressures so we know our numbers and can then make any necessary changes to our health.

Did you know that getting your blood pressure checked is the first step to prevent heart attacks and strokes?

Home monitoring is an effective and inexpensive way to keep blood pressure under control, it enables you to take control of your own health and the evidence behind it continues to get stronger.

The Occupational Health Unit are also running clinics throughout September whereby you can get your blood pressure checked and discuss the results with one of our nurses.

Join us at any the following:

  • 2nd September 12pm-4:30pm: Ysgol Garth Olwg, CF38 1DX
  • 4th September 1pm-3pm: Ty Elai, CF40 1NY
  • 6th September 9am-4:30pm: Municipal building, Pontypridd, CF37 2DP

We will also be attending the managers briefings, if you want to get your blood pressure checked:

  • 17th September 9:30am-1:30pm: Llys Cadwyn, CF37 4TH
  • 20th September 9:30am-1:30pm: TBC

Please note, these sessions will be drop-in sessions so just turn up and we will see you there. Appointments should take around 5 minutes each.
