The Council delivers a wide range of services to individuals that live within our local communities, and visitors to the area. When delivering these services, the Council is required to collect and use personal and sometimes sensitive information about you.

The Council is committed to complying with data protection law. Looking after your personal information is very important to us and we want you to be confident that your personal information is kept safe and secure. We also, want you to understand how we use it to provide you with services. 

The Data Protection pages on this website provide you with information on how and why the Council may use your personal information along with the ways in which your privacy is protected. This is sometimes referred to as a ‘privacy notice’ but we prefer to use the term ‘how we use your personal information’.

Within these pages, references to we, us or our are incorporated, these statements all relate to Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council, we’ve used these terms in some sections to try and make it easier for you to read and relate to.

In addition to the general information provided in the frequently asked questions section, it is important that individuals are provided with detailed information about how personal information is used when receiving specific services. These are referred to as ‘Service Privacy Notices’
