The Eisteddfod Genedlaethol Cymru is a celebration of Welsh culture, a mix of talent competitions and evening concerts, gigs, plays and exhibitions and much more. A family friendly event that encourages all (Cymraeg and di-Gymraeg speakers alike) to come experience the unique combination of competitive events and festival elements. The Eisteddfod is an inclusive event that welcomes all, no matter of your Welsh language skills, there's something for everyone on the Maes!

Local Appeal Committees

With local appeal committees already established in Rhondda, Cynon and Taf, volunteers have been meeting to start raising awareness about the Eisteddfod and discussing ideas about community activities all over RCT. This is a great opportunity to get YOUR club, YOUR school, YOUR organisation fully involved in all things Eisteddfod. All committee meetings are bilingual and there's a warm croeso to anyone to join, please email eisteddfod2024@rctcbc.gov.uk for further information!

Sponsorship

Sponsoring or donating a prize at the Eisteddfod is a great way to support the local appeals committees and publicly recognise an individual, business or organisation. You can find a list of the Eisteddfod prizes here. Every penny goes towards the festival and the Eisteddfod are grateful for all contributions.

Learning Welsh

If you are learning Welsh, haven't used it for while or have previously thought about starting your journey then there's no better place to practice than the Eisteddfod! Make sure you visit Maes D (the Eisteddfod's Welsh learners village) during your time on the Maes to find a course that works for you.

Locally, there's a whole host of Welsh language courses available with Dysgu Cymraeg, and you can also find a list of Welsh coffee mornings on the Menter Iaith RCT activities page where you can use your Welsh skills in an informal setting.
