Join our tourism hubs.

Businesses, organisations and individuals committed to developing Rhondda Cynon Taf as a visitor destination are being supported by an important new Tourism Hub.

The Hub has been launched by Visit Rhondda Cynon Taf, the Council’s Tourism Team, to bring together partners from a wide range of sectors, interests and specialties to develop the huge potential of the county borough, raising its profile as an exciting place to visit, explore and stay.

Tourism contributes some £179m to Rhondda Cynon Taf’s economy and is essential industry, with businesses and organisations of all sizes – from hotels and attraction providers to small catering ventures – relying upon incoming visitors and their associated spend.

The Hub has been formed to enable all those who rely upon tourism – or who wish to develop their tourism offer – to come together in a coordinated manner and network.

The new Visit Rhondda Cynon Taf Tourism Strategy will underpin the work and direction of the Hub.

Members can secure important updates on sector and tourism industry news on a local, regional and national level. There will be information on funding, support with marketing resources and, importantly, a chance to work together on a shared vision of making Rhondda Cynon Taf a must-see destination.

Communication will be two way, to enable the sharing of ideas, with open discussion on matters of interest and concern that can be escalated further by the Visit Rhondda Cynon Taf Tourism Team through its partnerships with Visit Wales, Visit Southern Wales, Valleys Regional Park and so on.

Membership is free and is open to any individual, business, company representative or provider with a vested interest in tourism, and a commitment to partnership working with the aim of increasing the tourism potential of Rhondda Cynon Taf.

 Examples include:

  • Attraction operators
  • Accommodation providers
  • Those with a food or drink offering (whether that is eat in or takeaway)

  • Community representatives or individuals looking to develop or deliver an offer or new business – such as walking, wellbeing, heritage, retail, catering or accommodation.
