Dare Valley Country Park - Penrhiwllech Trail

Dare-Valley-Trails-Box

The Penrhiwllech Trail takes you on a horseshoe shaped route from Dare Valley with high a climb onto the upland plateau around Tarren y Bwllfa.

Offering stunning views of the Brecon Beacons and former industrial landscape, you'll see the incredible 8,000 year old formation of one of Britain's most southerly and spectacular glacial cwms, the Tarren Y Bwllfa.

The 6km walk starts and finishes at the Visitor Centre and is way-marked with yellow arrows on yellow banded posts. Finish of with a cuppa and cake at the onsite cafe, a game of laser tag at Combat Zone Live or perhaps a visit to Greenmeadow Riding for a gentle canter with the horses.

Please note, sturdy footwear is recommended, as the path may be wet and uneven in places. The terrain will require you to climb over stiles, navigate a mixture of countryside paths, uphill climbs, and rough terrain. Note, there are unfenced cliffs and deep holes near the path, and therefore care should be taken (including keeping dogs on leads) to remain on the trail.
