Who are they and What do they do? 

Coleg Y Cymoedd have several sports courses running at Aberdare, Nantgarw and Ystrad Mynach. Students work towards Level 1, 2 and 3 BTEC qualifications, with some focusing on rugby league, rugby union and football. As part of these courses students will gain sport coaching and fitness instructor qualifications.
Sport students are offered opportunities to volunteer with Sport RCT to support festivals, competitions and events.

The University of South Wales campus in Pontypridd hosts many sports degree courses. To find out which courses they offer visit: https://www.southwales.ac.uk/study/subjects/sport/. Students complete school and community placements with Sport RCT as part of their Sport Placement and Work-Based learning modules in Years 2 and 3.
Students complete a 40, 70 or 140 hour placement based at a school or community setting and help to deliver a range of programmes and projects. Students also support the many festivals, competitions and events that Sport RCT provide.
