Public Rights of Way Information Fees

The Definitive Map and Statement of Public Rights of Way can be viewed free of charge by appointment at our offices. To make an appointment please contact us by email - Countryside@rctcbc.gov.uk

We also offer two chargeable services:

  • Public Rights of Way Searches
  • Extracts of the Definitive Map of Public Right of Way 

Should you wish to request either of the above services, you must make a BACS payment for the required fee (BACS details) and provide evidence of payment along with a map outlining in red the required search area.

Documents will be provided in PDF format within 5 working days of payment being received.

Public Rights of Way Searches

Requests for information on public rights of way are usually dealt with by supplying extracts of the electronic working copy of the Definitive Map at the prices stated below.  Extracts will be provided in PDF format as standard.

The electronic working copy is an interpretation of the Definitive Map of Public Rights of Way with all legal changes/alterations taken into account.

 It should be noted that this map is not the Definitive Map of Public Rights of Way (that legal record) and, that whilst every effort to attain accuracy in translation from the original paper mapping has been made, no liability is accepted for any errors particularly when viewed at scales greater than the original mapping.

If additional enquiries arise from the result of the search provided, these will be charged at £15.00 (+VAT) per enquiry (in addition to the cost of the map extract given above).

Extracts of the Definitive Map of Public Right of Way

Requests for extracts of the Definitive Map can be provided at the prices stated below. Where necessary, map extracts are accompanied by written details. Extracts will be provided in PDF format as standard. 

 The three Definitive Maps covering the County Borough:

  • Rhondda at a scale of 1:10 000 (Relevant Date 16/10/1992) 
  • Cynon - at a scale of 1:10 000 (Relevant Date 15/12/1995)
  • Taf Ely - at a scale of 1:25 000 (Relevant Date 01/01/1971)

It should be noted these maps are legal documents and cannot be photocopied.
