A new national digital system for the Childcare Offer for Wales will replace the different systems used by Local Authorities currently. This means that every Local Authority, parent and childcare provider will use one single service. The system is being prepared now, ready to go live in January 2023.

What does this mean for childcare providers?
If you are a childcare provider who currently provides Childcare Offer hours or wishes to provide Childcare Offer hours from January 2023, you will need to register online with the new Childcare Offer for Wales national digital service.
How to register
It’s important that all childcare providers delivering the Childcare Offer for Wales register onto the new service. This is because parents of children who are eligible from January 2023 will apply via the national digital service, and payments for Childcare Offer hours provided for those children will only be made via the new service.

How do parents apply
Parents will be able to apply via the new system from November. Only children who will be eligible from 1st January 2023 should apply via the new system. Any children who are eligible before this date need to apply via our current portal here.
Support to improve your digital skills
Ahead of the launch of the Childcare Offer for Wales’s new national digital service, Digital Communities Wales will be providing free basic digital training sessions for all childcare providers in Wales.
