The proposed investment for the Beddau school will deliver improved sixth form and sports facilities, along with wider 21st Century facilities by 2023. It is part of a £75.6m investment across Greater Pontypridd.
The major scheme would provide the school with a brand new sixth form building block, new sports facilities (in addition to the existing athletics track and 3G sports pitch which opened in 2019), and improved school facilities for those pupils in Key Stages 3 and 4. There will also be opportunities for the wider community to use the new facilities.

Two poor-quality teaching blocks will be demolished as part of the project, while a car park will be provided. This investment will deliver the state-of-the-art, 21st Century facilities in time for the 2023/24 academic year.
A consultation running in November 2021 has provided residents with an opportunity to find out more and have their say.
The project received full planning permission from the Council’s Planning and Development Committee in March 2022.
