Let us inspire you this half term – more parks to visit here:

This hidden treasure was bequeathed to the people of Porth and what a gift it is! There’s tennis courts and a children’s playground as well as pathways lined with trees of all shapes, colours and sizes. Free parking on site

darren

Darren Park, Ferndale

Take a walk around the lake, discover the legend of the Lady of the Lake and burn off some energy in the playground.

Dare Valley Country Park

This incredible open space has been shaped by industry and Mother Nature over millions of years. There are acres of walking routes to explore – with something for all abilities. There is also an adventure playground and on-site café – plus camping if you fancy it!

 barry sidings

Barry Sidings Country Park, Trehafod

Whether on two feet or two wheels, Barry Sidings Country Park is the perfect place to explore! The Bike Doctor has set up a mini pump track, amazing on-site café and bike hire for all to enjoy. Relax by the lakes, play in the adventure playground or discover the walking and cycling routes that take you up into the surrounding mountains.

ponty

Ynsyangharad War Memorial Park, Pontypridd.

Wander alongside the river and spot the wildlife, explore the sunken garden and take time to reflect at the War Memorial, this is a true escape from town centre bustle.

Lido Ponty may be closed for the season – watch this space for news on the Boxing Day swim – but Lido Play adventure playground and the café remain open.

 aberdare

Aberdare Park, Aberdare

Over 150 years old and still going strong, this magnificent park has an amazing array of nature to enjoy. Its Autumn colours are spectacular! Make sure you visit the Gorsedd Circle that remains in the park from the first-ever National Eisteddfodd. The boating lake and pedal-boats are a must – make sure you grab bird food from the café to feed the ducks, swans and geese on the lake. Enjoy the adventure playground and perhaps enjoy a game of tennis!
