Additional daytime sessions at Lido Ponty.

Lido3
Responding to public demand, two new day-time swimming sessions have been added at the National Lido of Wales, Lido Ponty, and will run until the end of the season on October 3.

As well as the two early morning swim sessions and after-school activity sessions already taking place, swimmers can also enjoy casual and lane swimming from 9.30am-10.30am and 2pm to 3pm every weekday.

This means an additional 120 swimmers a day – or 700 per week – can enjoy the amazing facilities at Lido Ponty for the next three weeks.

The splash pool with fountain will also be open for the 9.30am-10.30am and 2pm-3pm sessions – perfect for parents or carers who have younger children who are not yet in school.

Weekends remain the same, with early morning swims and then seven fun activity sessions.

Tickets for the new sessions taking place between next Monday (sept 13) and Thursday (Sept 16) are on sale now at www.lidoponty.co.uk

The sessions for Friday will go on sale seven days in advance, as per the usual arrangement, at 7.30am tomorrow (Sept 10) and then seven days in advance thereafter.

Cllr Andrew Morgan, Leader of Rhondda Cynon Taf Council, said: “We are delighted to have been able to respond to calls for additional daytime swimming opportunities at Lido Ponty.

“Two additional sessions will take place from 9.30am to 10.30am and 2pm to 3pm every weekday for the rest of the 2021 season. This equates to an additional 700 spaces a week on offer at Lido Ponty.

“Huge thanks must be given to the team at Lido Ponty, especially the lifeguards. They have been working hard to keep visitors safe throughout the season and have worked flexibly to accommodate the various changes in coronavirus regulations.”
