Bryn Celynnog Comprehensive School

The proposed investment for the Beddau school has delivered improved sixth form and sports facilities, along with wider 21st Century spaces for art, maths and ICT.

The school is also benefitting from a new gym, fitness suite and dance studio, while externally there is a new and improved bus pick-up/drop-off area, and a new grass rugby field.

These facilities were handed over from the development contractor in November 2023, and brought into use for staff and pupils. This milestone represents the end of Phase One of the investment for the school.

Phase Two will follow on, to demolish an older teaching block and to create additional on-site staff parking.

New facilities handed over to Bryn Celynnog Comprehensive School (November 2023)

A consultation running in November 2021 provided residents with an opportunity to find out more and have their say. The project received full planning permission from the Council’s Planning and Development Committee in March 2022.

The investment for Bryn Celynnog Comprehensive School is part of a wider £75.6m investment in education facilities across Greater Pontypridd.
